When Bigfoot Gets Downright Dangerous - Mysterious Universe

This should come as no surprise, but humans tend to be the authors of their own misfortunes. A case from 1924 is a perfect example, with team of prospectors in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon shooting and killing a Sasquatch observing their activities. Consequently their night was a living hell, enduring the fury of its group that seemed to want payback. When daylight came and the attack was over, they shot another Sasquatch, hightailing it out of the mountains and leaving behind their equipment. Trigger happy humans also can't seem to leave alone The Strange Creatures That Hide in Caves. Then upon finding terrifying beasties living in said caves, they either run away and get the CIA to come in guns ablazing, or try to kill the cave occupants themselves. (Not that there was ever any welcome mat set out to encourage visitors.) Now let's temper this human stupidity with a video from a simpler time when we didn't think we had all the answers and a cryptid discovery might have been met with more awe than gunfire, "Bigfoot" - A Television Special. Filmed in the 1970s and featuring the late Grover Krantz, it's a throwback to a time when the thrill of the search was all encompassing. (CM)
