The Mountain of the Moon and an African Bunyip - ShukerNature

Zoologist Karl Shuker exposes his whimsical side, exploring a Bengali blockbuster based on the novel Chander Pandar, featuring a young man seeking adventure and an ill named beast that in no way resembles its namesake. "Interestingly, however," notes Shuker, "this terrifying apparition does recall a traditional African mystery beast known as the dingonek." Next, Michael Mayes, one of our favorite cryptid hunter from the Lone Star State, examines Historical Jaguar Sightings in Texas, as recently as the 1800s. He reminds us that it's not impossible for a melanistic group of jaguars to have survived, and if that's the case then this big cat mystery has just been solved.
