UAP Task Force to Provide Report to Senate Intelligence Committee - The Debrief

The Intelligence Authorization Act including the "Advanced Aerial Threats" provision has finally been signed. This includes a directive for an unclassified report about the Pentagon's current UFO investigations. But there's a caveat, as Ryan Sprague and Tim McMillan note, "and there is still no guarantee that a comprehensive, 'all-source' UAP report will end up seeing the light of day." The Debrief authors provide background and comments by Christopher Mellon and Luis Elizondo, who as much as anyone seem to have been the stimulus for this particular "package." In COVID-19 Bill Started a 180-day Countdown for UFO Disclosures New York Post writers Steven Greenstreet and Steven Nelson explain why the "provision received very little attention" in the 5,593-page, 2.3 trillion COVID-19 relief and government funding bill signed by President Trump. Also referencing The Debrief article, Newsweek's Kashmira Gander has some of the Twitter reaction in UFO Report Could Be Published by Government Agencies in 180 Days. Kevin Randle's commentary Covid-19 and UFO Disclosure basically says "We've seen it all before" with such government UFO initiatives, and predicts "more of the same." The title COVID-19 Bill May Bring UFO Disclosures in 6 Months ... or Not indicates Paul Seaburn's similar stance regarding a worthwhile outcome from the directive. While linking to the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 and summarizing its relevant provisions, Paul also lists the current and very real political and indeed medical hindrances to getting those directives implemented.
