The Obsessive Life and Mysterious Death of the Fisherman Who Discovered The Loch Ness Monster - Narratively

If you ever wondered how word originally got out about the great Orm of Loch Ness, this monstrous pairing of tales from times past should answer your questions. Alexander Gray was born in 1900 and raised within spitting distance of the loch. An accomplished fisherman and boatsman, he also drove a bus along the path that surrounded the dark waters. It made sense then that the first time Nessie put in a surface appearance, Sandy Gray was there to observe her. In more recent times, The Mystery Of The Loch Ness Monster Has Finally Been Solved. Well, not so much, although in the 1930s it was purported that the whole monster sighting was just an elaborate cover-up by a kid late for school. Lie or not, tourism in the area exploded and a legend was born. Those of us who love Nessie know she's real though, don't we? (CM)
