A Close Encounter with Nessie? - Loch Ness Mystery

Glasgow Boy recently heard from a gentlemen who passed along second-hand details of an encounter with something along the shore of Loch Ness back in 1922. It seems a young lady stumbled upon the nap time of a dark skinned creature resembling a six-foot-long salamander. She was able to sneak up on it sufficiently to gain a handful of slime (brave girl!) before it startled and fled back into the water. Of course, no one believed her story. More recently, Skipper thinks Loch Ness MonsterĂ¢€™s an eel after spotting creature on sonar. Back in 2015 the now-retired skipper found something on his sonar at a depth of about 750 feet, apparently 20 to 30 feet in length. It also happens that this skipper knows the captain of the tour boat recently in the news for other fantastical sonar images from the Loch, and he gives the fellow top marks for integrity. Here's hoping 2020 gives us a consolation gift for all the trouble she's caused--some real proof that Nessie and her ilk are swimming about Loch Ness. (CM)
