We all know smoking can kill you. Most of us know that a nicotine addict without his fix might want to kill you. But probably close to none of us know that the water demon in Wisconsin's Lake Koshkanong will happily drown those who fail to make it an offering of tobacco prior to crossing. That stuff just brings out the worst in man or beast alike. It's harder to determine what the serpent was looking for in A Monstrous Encounter: “The Animal Began To Swim Towards Me�.
