John Keel siteminder Doug Skinner posts more of journalist/ufologist/jack of all trades John Keel's late 1960s correspondence with Library of Congress bibliographer Lynn Catoe. This first offering provides perspective to the doings of the University of Colorado UFO Project ("Condon Committee"). (A major account of this important and ill-starred aspect of ufology is available in
UFOs and Government: A Historical Inquiry, Michael Swords and Robert Powell, eds., published by Anomalist Books.)
A Letter from Lynn Catoe, March 29, 1968 offers two of the odder paranormal enthusiasms, the "Varo edition" of M.K. Jessup's
The Case for the UFO and the Kaspar Hauser conundrum of the early 1800s. For Keel himself see Tim R. Swartz's
John A. Keel: The Indiana Jones of the Unexplained. Swartz leads off with a good Keel bio and follows with an interview Timothy Green Beckley did with Keel and published in 1984. It exemplifies Keel's sense of humor as well as presenting more of his background and some of his opinions. (WM)
