There's an adage that goes if you could trade problems with another, you would be glad to take back your own troubles by the next day. So in the spirit of lightening your burdens by allowing you to say "Thank goodness I'm not in their shoes," we have two poltergeist reports. The first strange tale comes from Shillong, India. Residents of one particular home in the village are enduring a plague of stones and potatoes being thrown at their roof and front entrance. There are no angry villagers performing this heinous act...or are there? Our next report,
The Strange Case of the Artistic Poltergeist isn't so easily laughed off, centering around a churchgoing family in 1850s Connecticut. Not only were they tormented by unseen entities that destroyed their belongings and attempted to murder their children, but there also were strikingly lifelike tiny dolls formed from textiles found in their home, appearing in rooms behind locked doors. More disturbing was the fact these dolls were fashioned to look like members of the family, which would have made disposing of them difficult and--who knows?--maybe fatal? Compared to these two angry ghost stories, we think our own lives are looking pretty good right now (CM)
