The Strange Case of the Bigfoot Attack at Ape Canyon - Mysterious Universe

Brent Swancer details the famous July 1924 encounter as described by an eyewitness, Fred Beck, of an apparent attack by Bigfoot-like creatures--which seem more paranormal than flesh-and-blood--while he and four other men were staking out a gold claim in southwest Washington state. But that's only part the Ape Canyon story. The rest is told by Robert Schneck in a chapter in his book Mrs. Wakeman vs The Antichrist; Schneck reveals the Ape Canyon story as folklore of the magical treasure hunting variety that got incorporated into the cryptozoological canon in 1967 following the release of the Patterson-Gimlin film. Which naturally leads us to the Summer of Strangeness Premiere with Loren Coleman, a conversation between Tim Binnall and Loren on "Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, the Tasmanian Tiger, Thunderbirds, Orang Pendek, phantom clowns, Twilight Language, what appears to be something of a generational shift in the world of the paranormal, what would happen to a Bigfoot if one were actually captured," and of course much more.
