Here's a veritable "Swordsfest" of faery tales from the "Professor" to lighten our minds in these dynamic and serious times. As billed, this first entry has eight cases of widely-varying types from just before the turn of the millennium. Next up: The Professor asks Tolkien ENTS in the 21st Century? The novelty of multiple "claims of large tree-like entities" gets them into his first "current" post. The Ents don't seem very friendly, but the winged entities that round out the post make up for that. Twenty-first Century Light on the Path? brings a bevy of "members of the 1-to-4-foot-tall Little People tribe," with attendant antics, whom The Professor concludes are "Mainly not a bad crowd to have an encounter with." Lastly, Odd Encounters in the New Century's First Decade promises "Unique and near unique incidents," and certainly delivers! (WM)
