Piasa Not a Bird, But Still a Monster - Mysterious Universe

If you look up the definition of Monster in Merriam Webster, you'll find references to creatures of unnatural size and terrifying shape. This pair of reports suits that description perfectly, although the jury remains out on anything more specific. Whether through pictographs like those of the Piasa, or the less reliable word of mouth and newsprint in The Strange Mystery of the Crawfordsville Monster, the existence of beasties unknown is laid out before us.  They await judgement on whether their "existence" qualifies as flesh and blood creature or, to quote Ebenezer Scrooge, a blob of mustard. Perhaps the best part of being a fortean is that we don't have to choose. Monsters be among us, but only if we see them as such. (CM)
