It's a noisy world we live in, made worse by concentrated urban centers and the military testing God-knows-what kind of weapons. (And don't get us started on The Aliens.) And still The Hum can be heard above all else, like the strange love child of noise pollution and earth tectonics. We have to wonder how affected we all are by sound waves, particularly the undetectable ones. A community in the US was puzzled when A Mystery Frequency Disrupted Car Fobs in an Ohio City, and Now Residents Know Why. An inventor-type neighbor created an alarm to ket him know when someone was upstairs while he was in the basement (laboratory?) of his house. The device produced radio waves in the same frequency as car fobs, hence the poor residents needing to manually unlock their cars and garages. Oh, the Humanity! Fortunately the solution was an easy fix and no aliens were harmed in the process. (CM)
