Bigfoot Rumors Boosting Travel at Central West Virginia Lake - West Virginia Explorer

There was a time when areas with plenty of Hairy Man activity would not have fallen under the category of tourist destinations. But thanks to the internet and the proliferation of adventure TV and Bigfoot hunting programs, the danger of elusive, enormous, unidentified, hairy bipeds has been lost and everyone wants to go searching. For example, If you want to encounter Bigfoot, Michigan is a great place to start, TV show says.Of course, it neglects to mention that some encounters indicate the Big Guy might be losing his fear of humans, which never ends well for any kind of wildlife. Have you seen Bigfoot? More than 1,300 sightings have been reported in Pa. The possibility of catching a glimpse of a Sasquatch is beyond exciting, but perhaps it's time to pull back and remember this is a wild creature and we are encroaching--trespassing, even--on its territory. Rapping on its metaphorical door and announcing we've come for a visit is inherently harmful and stupid, even for humans. (CM)
