Mysterious Radar Anomalies Reported Near Sydney Australia - Mysterious Universe

Back in December Mysterious Universe reported on some radar readings out of the US indicating a weather system that clearly wasn't there. A new type of chaff being used by military planes was blamed and our attention moved elsewhere. Now similar reports are coming out of Sydney, Australia.  Any thoughts on why military exercises are taking place over major cities? Perhaps it's time to look at other explanations, In other sky related weirdness, Mysterious Blue Flash Above the UK Blamed on Ball Lightning. Hundreds of reports of ball lightning over the years make this a likely possibility, although some folks were of course leaning towards an extraterrestrial explanation. However the event could also be pinned on something less intriguing--a high voltage power line taken down by a falling tree. So unless that tree was knocked over by a badly driven flying saucer, the cause of that blue flash was most certainly earthly in origin. (CM)
