It may be a long way to the titular town, but not so far away that, in 1847, one fellow arrived in it twice within ten minutes. Except that he didn't. The first arrival may have been a Vardoger, i.e. a variety of Doppelganger which precedes a person "in reaching their intended destination" then disappears before the "real" person arrives. And about thirty years later, also on the Emerald Isle, The Potato Pinching Poltergeist on Old Town Hill was vandalizing property and behaving in a rather Disneyesque fashion, sending crockery, clothing and more flying around in all directions, not to mention making off with the family's dinner.
