Thinking about Goot’s ghost is the first installment of a two-part tale from the adolescence of Lonie Adcock. The character Goot seems a bit of an enigma, disabled and yet infinitely more capable than those around him. His insistence that the neighborhood boys--who think ghosts are just something to tease one another over--come to his house to see a real ghost, results in a gathering at his home where he has assured everyone his own personal spook will make an appearance.
