A Message from Mom - Michael Prescott's Blog

Guest contributor Greg L. makes a return to Prescott's blog, sharing his personal experience of grief following the death of his mother. Greg is a gifted writer, leaving us with lumps in our throats and knots in our stomachs as he navigates the minefield of Hope vs Doubt. Like a true Fortean, he never tells his readers what to think, only lays out the facts to be puzzled over even as he does so himself. Thinking about Goot̢۪s ghost is the first installment of a two-part tale from the adolescence of Lonie Adcock. The character Goot seems a bit of an enigma, disabled and yet infinitely more capable than those around him. His insistence that the neighborhood boys--who think ghosts are just something to tease one another over--come to his house to see a real ghost, results in a gathering at his home where he has assured everyone his own personal spook will make an appearance. Part II to come shortly. (CM)
