This happened yesterday at work. I’m not going to tell you that I’m a very sceptical person like most of the people that post here. I am 18 years old boy, live in the Netherlands and I’ve always kind of believed in ghosts, after experiencing a couple of small weird things, like an old music box that was standing on the top of a closet in my parents room that wasn’t touched in years suddenly turning on in the middle of the night. And let me tell you that I’m very scared of these things. I froze and cried when I went to the room and saw my parents sitting up and looking baffled at the music box. Also, I once ended a friendship with someone that told me after years of being friends with him that he could ‘feel’ ghosts. The last straw for me was that he told me there was a ghost standing in the kitchen when I was sitting with him in the living room at night. I called my parents and got the fuck out of there. And I’ve never talked to him again. I know this is terribly unkind, but it shows how scared I am for these things.
So, I always believed that it was possible that ghosts existed, but since yesterday I am certain they exist.
First I’m going to tell you a little bit about my work so that it becomes clearer. I work at a big factory during the evening when all of the regular employes have already left, together with 2 friends of my age. We start at 6pm and we leave at around 10pm, and our job consists of preparing some things for the next day. It’s a very big factory and we work at the back in a separate hall. During the day there work about 300 people at the factory. But in the evening, the only people in the factory are my 2 friends and I, and a couple of people that work at the office section, which is at the other side of the factory (5 minute walk). We don’t have any bosses that keep an eye on us, because they trust us and we’re serious at our job. So this means we have al the freedom you can possibly have as 18 year olds at a big empty factory. The funny thing is, most of the time we’ve already finished our tasks after an hour or 2, so, we can do what we want for the remaining hours, such as playing hide and seek (childish, I know. But in a big factory it’s as cool as you can imagine) or study for school. At 10pm we have to close our section ourselves. There’s only one way to enter our section at the back.
Now that you know the setting, I’ll tell you what happened yesterday evening. We finished at around 8pm. I wanted to study for my exams, so I went to the lunch table and started studying. My friends didn’t have anything to do so they asked me if it was okay for them to go home. I didn’t mind, while that means that I could study without being distracted. So they went home and turned of all the lights except for the one at my table, so I wouldn’t have to do that anymore once I was done. These lights would go on when when they notice movement. So, knowing that I was basically all alone in the factory, I started studying. After an hour or so all alone I started getting anxious for no reason. Very weird, while I’ve been all alone at that place many times. I looked up and it was very quiet and dark which was normal. But I felt something was off. Like someone was watching me or something, I can’t explain the feeling very well but it made me anxious. I looked through the big cabinets for as far as I could but it was dark and couldn’t see anything. Also, I knew nobody could be there while I didn’t hear anyone coming through the door, and while it was very quiet, you could here any small sound, so it was impossible for someone to be in my section. I started studying again. But then it happened. I got goosebumps. At the end of the corridor next to me someone started running, not quietly, but with panding feet, all the way from the beginning to the end of the corridor. I got goosebumps all over me and froze. It was impossible someone was with me in the room, and I was sitting there for an hour already. The running suddenly stopped at the other end of the corridor and no one walked out. The running lasted for about 8 seconds and it was terrifying. The adrenaline kicked in and I walked as fast as I could to the door at the other end of the hall. When I looked behind me at the corridor, I saw no one. I closed the door and went home. Terrified.
Is there a logical reasoning behind this? What do you all think?
