I discovered Skinwalkers through here today and a story my mom told me just popped into my head. I don't personally believe it was a Skinwalker and I was hoping someone might have an idea of what this thing could've been.
Myself and my family have all experienced weird paranormal things but this has to be one of the weirdest things I've ever heard. I know it'll sound like this has been made up and I feel absolutely ridiculous typing it out but I do believe it to be true due to the sheer terror I can hear in my mom's voice when she talks about it.
My mom moved to Pasadena, Texas when she was about 4 or 5 years old with her parents due to her aunt being ill down there. She was put into her room to sleep one night where she awoke several hours later to see a tall, dark figure standing over her bed, staring at her.
Upon further inspection, my mom said this thing looked like a black dog. It stood at around 6 feet tall (it walked on its hind legs) and (I feel so stupid saying this) it wore a long, black cloak with a hood. It spoke in a deep man's voice and it was not aggressive towards her though she said she felt there was something sinister about it.
This creature would randomly appear, wake her, pick her up out of her bed at night and occasionally carry her to different places around the house. It never revealed itself to her parents and she said it would tell her things that would happen in the future.
For example, the last thing it told her was that the upcoming Christmas would be her last in the house because her aunt would die shortly after and she would move back to her home state. My mom told her parents about this thing and repeated its foretellings but her parents just put it down to her having an overactive imagination.
However, the things that it would tell her would always come true. Her aunt died shortly after Christmas and they moved away from Pasadena. This is one of many examples of it accurately being able to predict things.
The thing didn't follow her when she left that house. I've been reading about Skinwalkers but I don't think this creature fits the description of one. Maybe it was some sort of demonic entity? I have no clue. I'm hoping someone on here can provide some insight into this because I'm at a loss as is my mom but I guess you don't hear about weird, fortune-telling, cloaked dogs every day.
I guess this could've just been her being a half asleep child hallucinating odd things and sleepwalking around the house. 🤷🏻♀️ Weird coincidence that she knew things that hadn't happened yet, though.
