Eerie, Ripple-Like Rings Around Distant Star In New James Webb Image Puzzle Astronomers - LiveScience

Here's a curiousity from the James Webb Space Telescope and it doesn't appear to have anything to do with the uncorrectable micrometeoroid damage it suffered since achieving its distant orbit. The distant star designated WR 140, about 5,000+ light years away, is shining square-ish, concentric ripples much to the consternation of astronomers across the globe. While no one, not even Tereza Pultarova, are toying with the idea of you-know-who there aren't many easy answers for this queer phenomenon. (CS)
