They Couldn't Believe Their Eyes — The Ocean Was Glowing - New York Times

Vast swaths of ocean aglow with luminous phytoplankton are common topics covered by journalists, remarking how areas the size of US states or regions are lit up and visible to satellites. Rarely does one see photos from the ocean's surface, but now William Broad has quite a scoop courtesy of one Naomi McKinnon and her plucky crew. On top of the photos are some unusual observations of the phenomenon as well!
