The murky beauty and mystery of Loch Ness was recently insulted by a Seattle travel writer who felt its hype unfairly stole attention from the surrounding villages and back roads of Inverness. While that's not entirely untrue, his ranting about the absence of any beastie in the dark waters was unkind and ill informed.
Nessie Could Actually Be a 'Giant Toad' Lurking in Deepest Depths of the Loch. Sadly this report simply refers to a large frog found at a depth of 325 feet and refers back to the "giant salamander" theory of what's living in the loch. Personally we are holding out hope for a toad the size of a Land Rover. Now that would be a monster. (CM)
