If you've ever wondered why some people thrive after experiencing high strangeness while others curl up in a tight little ball and refuse to play with weirdos like us ever again, this video on the Parapsychological Association's channel may shed some light. It appears that having a nonjudgemental support network—family, friends, fellow church members, etc.—makes it much easier to integrate paranormal experiences. Experiencers can then either get on with life and recover from their scare, or go on to have more experiences (as in the case of mediums). The information in this next report is not so reassuring:
New Study Reveals the Inner Thoughts of People Mysteriously Frozen by Catatonia. While the results varied from person to person, the most common experiences were fear and anxiety, and overwhelming intrusive thoughts while being physically locked in, aware of the pain of rigidity but unable to move. The condition is considered to be both neurological and psychological, which means no one fully understands or knows how to treat what must seem a living hell for everyone involved. (CM)
