The Ngatea Crop Circle - Strange Company

This pair of crop circle stories covers both ends of the controversy. The first incident dates back to 1969 in New Zealand where authorities seemed spooked enough that they dismissed biology, rubber stamped a conclusion, and ignored anything evidential that was placed before them. Rude. This next piece takes a humanistic approach, describing the phenomenon as Anonymous, Anti-Capitalist and Awe-Inspiring: Were Crop Circles Actually Great Art? If so, then according to this article, they needed no purpose other than to inspire awe in a Britain that was losing itself in social hierarchy. A silent rebellion and an artful flip of the bird at The Man. It's an intriguing angle, but we're not convinced The Man noticed. (CM)
