Chasing Footnotes: The Kit Green DIRD Report Analysis - A Different Perspective

Kevin Randle tries to penetrate to the original sources for UFO reports, this time seeking the underpinnings of the one Defense Intelligence Reference Document that actually mentions UFOs. Dr. Christopher ("Kit") Green's "Anomalous Acute and Subacute Field Effects on Human Biological Tissues" references prior works which themselves credit earlier material. Building upon the efforts of Drs. Michael Swords and Mark Rodeghier, among others, Kevin advances down the trail on several cases. His work on a September 17, 1954, French sighting may be advanced one more step by noting that Yves David's 10:30pm Cenon experience was reported in Aime Michel's Flying Saucers and the Straight-Line Mystery (pp. 58f., c. 1958, Criterion Books). Kevin also models the procedure for researching far more recent cases in two articles. Kevin's Memphis UFO Photograph--Chasing Solutions describes how Kevin snags reports to credible collection sites. He evaluates one original source, follows up on a comment about his work, and suggests a solution. A confirmatory comment to this article drives further research, resulting in Memphis Photo Update, More Sightings. This illustrates the utility of Fran Ridge's MADAR network and encourages collaborative online work in other instances. Coincidentally, note Live Science contributor Elizabeth Howell's Shimmering 'Night Spiral' Captured above Hawaii is Actually a Dying SpaceX Rocket. It's healthy to see the internet being used to further positive ufology. (WM)
