The UFO Enigma: A Mystery That Presents a Strong Image, But That May Really be Weak - Mysterious Universe

Nick Redfern offers a diverse set of unsettling UFO-related topics with a possible connection. First Nick proposes a remarkable "twist" to his alternative "non-ET Roswell" theories more like the late Mac Tonnies' and Nick's own recent "Cryptoterrestrial" earth-based UFO theorizing. Pertinent to Nick's reference to the Summer of '47 are his remarks about What Happened When a Powerful Politician Went Looking for the Truth of the Roswell "UFO" Mystery. In a word, "Nothing." At least, nothing enlightening. Though researcher Jan Aldrich and others have remarked that military records have occasionally been "lost" or destroyed without apparent reason, the seeming disappearance of such in the Roswell case looks suspicious. The explicit framing of the crash in an "ET versus weather balloon/Project Mogul balloon/Mogul plus crash-test dummies in the 1950s" dichotomy could then be seen as a clever ruse to hide an even stranger possibility, involving unfortunate Japanese and/or Americans aboard or something weirder though earthly. Nick treads along more strange paths with UFOs and the "British Bigfoot" - Mystery and Controversy. The Man-Monkey of the Shropshire Union Canal, the Shug Monkey of Rendlesham Forest, and other hairy bipeds star here. Could they be connected with UFOs and their occupants--as passengers or crew?
