'Lake Monster' Filmed in Taiwan - Coast to Coast

We've got some good reasons for staying out of the water, starting with this clip of a speckled longfin eel in Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan. The paddleboard instructor who encountered the 6-foot-long beastie did a great job of capturing the encounter. Luckily for him he wasn't made aware that this particular eel species is known for its bad habit of attacking and killing creatures much larger than itself. Now we'll go back  to 1881 near the Canada-US border where the Champlain Granite Works unearthed The “Champ� of All Lake Monsters Ever? Could Be! The "petrified sea serpent of mammoth proportions" was preserved in remarkable detail and eventually caught the attention of PT Barnam who purchased it for his museum.  (CM)
