The Most Enchanting Sci-Fi Movie of 2021 Reveals a Lasting Scientific Debate - Inverse

You already know about the International Cryptozoology Museum (ICM) in Portland, Maine, with its casts, photos, and reproductions. But what if an actual “cryptozoo� existed? The answer might look like animator Dash Shaw’s bizarre new movie Cryptozoo, which highlights a debate that’s been raging in Cryptozoology since the 1930s. Andy Crump writes in Inverse of his talks with Loren Coleman and Linda Godfrey (both of whom argue that the only way to see a cryptid is out in the world, not behind glass barriers), and the movie’s animator, Dash Shaw, on the underlying them of the movie. “Nature has a way,� quips ICM director Loren Coleman, “but humans have a way of messing things up.� In this way as well: Bigfoot Display Beheaded in Utah.
