10-Foot-Tall Bigfoot Sighting in Minnesota Town Dubbed the “Home of Bigfoot� - Mysterious Universe

The town of Remer in Minnesota, with a  population of 388 at last count, may well be a Bigfoot lovers paradise. The local radio station shares news of any sightings around this Bigfoot hotspot, and the Minnesota BFRO actually work together in a unified, rational manner to gather evidence of the existence of their namesake. We know only too well how quickly these endeavors can go south.  The Time Bigfoot DNA Was Proven! Or Not describes what may be termed the misadventures of Dr. Melba Ketchum in 2012. An established veterinarian with her own DNA lab, Ketchum and her team collected samples of what would later (not) "prove" that Bigfoot was a unique species resulting from the union of an unknown hominid and a primate. Just to lighten the mood (because the Ketchum story is a little disheartening), we present The Strange Case of the Winsted Wild Man of Connecticut. Apparently the creative work of a local journalist (or possibly mass hysteria), tales of a naked, hairy and possibly tusked wildman kept citizens indoors and hunting posses fired up, which worked out well since the gun toters would shoot at anything. No evidence of the so called wildman was ever found, proving that the media could say anything and people would believe it, even before the internet. (CM)
