Aliens, Underground Bases, and the Strange Abduction of Christa Tilton - Mysterious Universe

Brent Swancer recounts a typically bizarre narrative that began in July of 1987, when a woman named Christa Tilton had an inexplicable bout of missing time, and has "gotten increasingly eye-brow raising over the years." Brent then sends us back in time to An Early Alien Abduction During the Great UFO Airship Scare of 1896. Though this and other "airship" accounts may be products of journalistic imagination, they're at least a quirky part of ufological history. So too may be the Mysterious Notable UFO Crash Cases That Happened Before Roswell. We think Roswell's not "the incident that really launched the UFO craze into the public consciousness in the United States," as other 1947 events, the 1966 "swamp gas" flap, and the whole 1952 "Year of the UFO" much predate the late-1970s ignition of Roswell with Major Jesse Marcel's testimony. But whatever their source or factual support, Brent's pre-Roswell accounts also are interesting historical tales. And Brent's A Court Case and Weird Horned Aliens in the Closet was just so "Weird" it had us Googling the legal proceedings. (WM)
