Humans Can Learn How to 'Echolocate' in Just 10 Weeks, Experiment Shows - Science Alert

You don't need to have a degree in anthropology or biology to notice that animals are just better suited to life on this planet than humans. Nature has given them adaptations that would be considered superpowers if they were discovered in us two-legged hairless ones. So imagine the excitement of researchers at Durham University in the UK who have discovered that in as little as 10 weeks, a blind person can be taught to use echolocation to "navigate obstacles and recognize the size and orientation of objects using the rebounding calls of their clicks." In other potential strange human talents, Humans have ‘untapped’ ability to regenerate body parts, scientists say. Studies of amphibians and salamanders, particularly the endangered Axolotl, are revealing clues that suggest with some bio-tweaking, humans could be regrowing not only lost limbs, but organs, spinal cords, hearts and brains. Perhaps one day when we tell someone to "Grow a pair," they actually will. (CM)
