Current Director of UAP Task Force Named - Unidentified Aerial Phenomena - Scientific Research

With the Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force report supposedly imminent, sharp-eyed Keith Basterfield's noticed who's actually running the task force today. He's a Navy Intelligence analyst and his name is Brennan McKernan. Now going beyond the headlines, David Halperin offers The Return of the Teen UFOlogist? or, Eat Your Heart Out, Edward Condon. David has read Linda Jacobson's The Truth About UFOs Is Out There, and US Students are Trying to Find It. As we remarked on the 14th, current UFO interest is being used to excite students "In a move that would horrify the late Howard P. Robertson and Edward U. Condon." Halperin also relishes that irony. But there's a sad note in Halperin's essay--the subject of Miguel ("Red Pill Junkie") Romero's One-way Trip to Heaven on a Flying Saucer: Vale Tim "Mr. UFO" Beckley (1947-2021). With the help of four colleagues, "RPJ" pens a frank, informative, yet ultimately lyrical tribute to the late, many-sided Beckley. Glen Meek wonders about UFOs, the Pentagon, and the Enigma of Bob Lazar. Writing in the Nevada Current, Meek considers whether the Area 51 "whistleblower" is likely to be fully vindicated or discredited when the UAPTF report comes out. Like Meek, we doubt both possibilities. And Anders Sandberg "takes to the chalkboard" regarding UFOs: How to Calculate the Odds that an Alien Spaceship has been Spotted.
