History has repeatedly demonstrated that in times of great uncertainty and upheaval, social and political movements take hold in an effort to cope with crumbling structures and governmental or religious authorities unable or unwilling to protect us.  So it's timely and understandable that witchcraft is on the rise as women (and men) attempt to fight against overwhelming uncertainty and reclaim their personal power and spirit. It's a far cry from the days of neighbor accusing neighbor of cavorting with the devil, at least most of the time. Woman in England Accuses Neighbor of Unleashing a Ghost Upon Her Home, which didn't impress the police who took the time to both ghost hunt and explain to the woman what actually constitutes an emergency. Spoiler Alert: No neighbors were arrested for unleashing anything, not even their dogs. (CM)
