The Detroit River has long been known for its industry and related environmental repercussions, but it's not the same river it was 50 years ago. Now it's home to at least one lake sturgeon weighing in at over 200 pounds and more than six feet in length. These voracious undulating fish snakes travel in swarms (so much more disturbing than the schools the friendlier fish travel in) and have put off divers from exploring or recovering a variety of wrecks in Loch Ness. Completely understandable. No way Nessie is one of Them. Nessie is a good girl. (CM)
