Church Grapples with Wave of Russia's 'DIY Exorcisms' - Coast to Coast AM

Ignorance may well be the most dangerous blight to ever affect the human race; it can be credited as the origin of countless atrocities involving one man against another. This is demonstrated particularly well in the instances of "do it yourself" exorcisms in Russia, where misbehaving and mentally ill individuals can find themselves at the receiving end of extreme punishments intended to expulse the "demons" driving unacceptable behavior. Unfortunately, much of the same results are achieved at the hands of "professionals," as illustrated by The Bizarre Case of the Tanacu Exorcism. Taking place at a remote monastery in Romania, a young nun exhibiting symptoms of clinically diagnosed schizophrenia was slowly (almost) murdered by her associates in a botched exorcism attempt.
