When Cryptozoology Crosses Paths With the Domain of a Ghost - Mysterious Universe

According to Nick Redfern, encounters with the "man monkey" have been causing consternation in Shropshire for a good long time. The most recent sighting of this hairy scary critter was in 2013, but Nick looks in particular at a case from the 1970s. Meanwhile, Brent Swancer takes us north to Dundee where The Strange Case of the Black Phantom of Scotland set off "mass hysteria" among the populace. And finally, flying saucers of the crockery kind feature in the tale of a Housewife Possessed by Poltergeist. In her book, The Haunting of Alma Fielding, author Kate Summerscale writes of this case from the 1930s, uncovering a strange tale of a "malevolent, ghostly force" and of the methods used to test Alma's veracity.
