"Just One of Those Things" - Malcolm's Anomalies

Malcolm Smith looks into a phenomenon that the late Mary Rose Barrington wrote about extensively in a book entitled JOTT (Anomalist Books) and which most of us are all familiar with: "an item, usually a small one, inexplicably goes missing. Some time later it turns up in a place where it has no right to be or, even more puzzling, appears staring you in the face in an area which had already been thoroughly searched." Smith says the cases Barrington provides "are quite extraordinary" and don't seem to have a rational explanation. Over at The Paracast, the ever-controversial but always fascinating Col.
