Nick Redfern introduces us to the monsters of Lake Mendota in Wisconsin, and if you think their lack of fame relative to Nessie or Champ is an indicator of their ferocity, think again. First Peoples from the area believed the lake to be home to two creatures, one evil and one benign, and encounters by boaters tend to back this up. Massive vertebrae and a large scale have been recovered from Lake Mendota, but without forensic testing they might just as easily belong to a sturgeon—those guys get blamed for everything.
