EdgeScience 42 - Society for Scientific Exploration

The latest issue of this free pdf quarterly magazine features a blockbusting reexamination of a historic remote viewing case by Eric Wargo, entitled "Pat Price, Precognition, and 'Star Wars.'" Pat Price was a psychic superstar for SRI and the CIA and his description of a Soviet site in 1974 may have helped support the start of the of the Star Wars program, a $50 billion boondoggle. The story illustrates why it matters whether remote viewing is clairvoyance or precognition. Also in this issue is "Reality Is Not What You Think It Is: Or Why Evolution Hides Objective Reality" by Donald Hoffman, a professor of Cognitive Sciences at the University of California, Irvine; yes, our perceptions mislead us about objective reality--for a reason. And the beautiful cover image for "A Phenomenon Called Steve" by Andrew May captures the existence of an aurora-like phenomenon known about for decades by photographers, but until recently was unknown to mainstream science. Lastly, Roger Nelson, the director of the Global Consciousness Project, lets us know if the worldwide network of random number generators picked up the global event that has now changed our lives.
