'It's My Dream': Tasmanian Tiger Hunter Says He'll Live in the Bush for Two Years to Prove That the Thylacine Is Still A...

A hunter in Australia has made plans to prove the Tasmanian Tiger is not an extinct but rather critically endangered species, even if that requires he live in the bush for the next two years. That's the sort of dedication we admire, but we hope he has a plan for dealing with the venomous snakes and various other beasties (Yowies included) he will likely encounter. Next up, a species not so much extinct as living elsewhere, The Last Wolf in England provides 17th, 18th, and 19th century perspectives of the elimination of wolves from Great Britain. It seems odd nowadays to read something beautifully written describing an attempted extinction of a wild species, so take it with as large a grain of salt as required. CM)
