Many of us no doubt have memories of that one library book we renewed and renewed, unable to part with its story, our attachment growing with every page turn. Evidently library patrons in North Carolina feel the same way, but only about one specific book:Â
Haunted Asheville by Joshua Warren. But these readers are undaunted by wait times to borrow or fines for late returns. They just steal whatever copy of the book is available. We're sure Mr. Warren would agree with Nick Redfern that
The Supernatural Hazards of Being a Writer are very real. We have to wonder if that's because as a writer, one becomes more attuned to the high strangeness that may very well have been all around from the start. Or is the adage true that the more we look into the paranormal, the more it looks back at us? Makes us feel a little bit like prey caught in a viewfinder. (CM)
