The Story of The Ghost Club, The World's Oldest Paranormal Organization - Mysterious Universe

Properly formed in 1862, this Club started out with an "intellectual, academic approach" to other-worldly matters, and despite rather losing its way for some years, in part because its members swallowed a hoax or two, still exists. Today's members remind us that "science today was magic in the past" and they hope that "paranormal phenomena ... can eventually be explained in terms that scientists can understand." No doubt they'd enjoy a Welcome to The Most Haunted Village in Britain. Graveyard ghouls, spooky pubs, and "screaming woods" are just a few of the hair-raising delights of Pluckley in Kent. This charming place, which is a picture-postcard English village, has at least 15 ghosts and, as a result, a thriving tourist industry. (LP)
