Scientists Fail To Hear Signals Of Alien Life - The Guardian

Breakthrough Listen, despite its name, has come up empty handed. Show's over. Nothing to see here. One planet populated by clever apes scanned 1,327 stars out of the galaxy's 100 billion using a narrow spectrum band. For all we know, puny Earthlings are still using smoke signals and remain completely ignorant of the abundant radio activity all around them. On the bright side, things have been narrowed down according to Ian Sample. Maybe Yuri Milner should look at what his Mother Russia has to offer, by way of Paul Seaburn, who's found Colorful 5,000-Year-Old Art Possibly Depicting Aliens In Siberia. The figures seem familiar, but on closer inspection the story doubles down on curiosity. (CS)
