A - Mysterious Universes

Source materials--questionably authentic; certainly legitimate but from a single person's viewpoint; and anonymous, often zany, and incapable of being "controlled" by access to other accounts--underpin ufology and have to be approached in different ways. Nick Redfern offers a "controversial, undated, 8-page extract from a longer, very seldom seen, document" of uncertain provenance. Forbidden Science Volume Four, on the other hand, is definitely the original product of one of ufology's most influential lions. With good reason Hakan Blomqvist calls Forbidden Science 4: The Spring Hill Chronicles, The Journals of Jacques Vallee 1990-1999 "must reading for every serious student of UFOs and paranormal phenomena." It's unique primary source material recording the personal experiences of and interpretations by Vallee, and hence to be prized and at the same time recognized as infused with the individual perspective and opinions of its author--in a certain sense making it the more valuable. With Inside the Big Tent we have crossed a line into Alien Strongholds on Earth. Reviewer Nigel Watson says "The chapters by various authors go from being outright potty to the mind boggling ... a buffet of wild stories and speculation." And that's apparently in comparison with the ufological "normal." (WM)
