It's Not the Topic, It's the Presentation - The UFO Trail

This instructive article's headline would be more accurate as "It's Not Only the Topic; It's also Largely the Presentation." Of course, that's not as catchy as the "broad brush" approach, and Jack's text clarifies his more nuanced position. Additionally, "UFO buffs" with long and respected careers in business and/or academia may well have found the very topic close to toxic within their fields of gainful employment. Jack has demonstrated the damage poor work has visited upon ufology's prosecution and consequently its reputation, whatever its core interest. And his last paragraph could be hung up above every ufologist's theoretical desk. Unfortunately, as Jack predicts, this won't happen soon. In the meantime, honest efforts to study cases rigorously should be recognized. And prior prejudice alone should not force out-of-hand rejection of related assumptions, procedures, data, and conclusions. (WM)
