This first of four sightings from MUFON's Roger Marsh startled us at first, but it turns out that the "digital glitch" was more a metaphor than a "real" glitch. The cigarette-smoking witnesses failing to take photographs doesn't bother us as much as some other elements in this sighting, but certain features make the rotating triangle case interesting. A more recent English report sounding much the same is profiled in Roger's
British Witness Describes Low-Flying Triangle. Even the sighting's time of night, and the street scenes and mostly-leaden skies in the articles' pictures look rather similar. To a change in scenery on the other side of the former British Empire we go, as an
Australian Reports Disc Hovering Over Rural Property. The sighting report has its own charm, but cases like this also provide opportunities to learn more about sighting
locations. Look up "Warracknabeal Australia," which has an amazing number of sports activities for such a small town! Cigarette breaks and dog-walking are hugely recurrent features in UFO reports, so it's not surprising that dog walkers contacted MUFON about a
UFO Reported Hovering Over Florida Power Plant. Come to think of it, power sources seem a UFO "draw," too. These brief reports, whatever their ultimate origins, likely don't reflect the amount of time put in by the MUFON investigators who closed the cases, nor the lasting impact such events have upon those who report them.
