Paul Hynek Interview - A Different Perspective

The son of the late Dr. J. Allen Hynek of Project Blue Book and History Channel fame is an excellent guest in another Kevin Randle Special Edition podcast. Several times he and Kevin make distinctions between a drama and a documentary, with Kevin nonetheless grousing occasionally about particularly the show's fourth (latest) episode. Most outstanding in this dialogue were Paul's discussion of the Hynek children, the cases Hynek himself thought most sound, and what J. Allen and Mimi Hynek might have said about their portrayals. Kevin summarizes more of the positives and negatives about series and episode in History's Project Blue Book - Chiles-Whitted. Well, mostly negatives, but the show gives Kevin a chance to promo his extensive writings about the sighting that was the title (and little else) of the particular installment. Interesting with Kevin's thinking that people will be able to distinguish drama from a history they don't know and Paul's interview suggestion that people might want to look further for information is Kevin's closing comment here: "I just wonder how many people bother to read those [historical "notes at the end of the show"]." History Channel's Project Blue Book - Program 4 is Rich Reynolds' reprise, summed up by "The fourth show, like the series itself, was a joke." Alejandro Rojas, early a cheerleader for the series, subtitles his Den of Geek review Project Blue Book Episode 4 Review: Operation Paperclip as "History be damned as the Nazi's Invade on Project Blue Book Episode 4." But Alejandro thinks the potpourri of conspiracy theories tossed into this episode is "making the viewers think" and judges the result worth four of five stars. (WM)
