Mocksville, North Carolina, has recently endured a spate of Bigfoot sightings that has compelled animal control to go out into the woods to see for themselves what the fuss is all about. Seems someone has erected an 8-foot-tall wooden Bigfoot statue with glass eyes that glow red when caught in the light. (For the record, that is our idea of great art.) Case solved. But here's a more foreboding and to date unsolved mystery:
The Mysterious White Things of West Virginia. Imagine wild animals of all descriptions, in varying shades of white, that tear you to pieces with their slavering jaws then disappear, leaving you whole, shaking, and with a lifetime of nightmares. These "white devils" can be traced back in Cherokee lore and are often described as running upright, having humanlike "hands," and stinking of sulphur--like upright canines, or Sasquatch, only far more terrifying.
