This story should go into Websters as the definition of Unfortunate Wretch.  A Nigerian man, desperate to improve his state by winning the lottery, recently consulted a witch doctor in an effort to gain spiritual powers over the draw. What he instead came away with was an eye infection and eventual blindness in that eye as a result of the less than magical, very much less than medicinal, goo that was applied to his eyes for spiritual insight.
