Confession time: When first watching this clip, our reaction was "How interesting: it's a bear." Then we watched it a few more times. Not A Bear. Fortunately, whatever it was, it was too caught up foraging for prairie dogs to notice it had an audience. But bears are still pretty frightening and Esoterx will back us up on that. Exit Stage Left, Pursued by a Ghost Bear gives a brief historical rundown of "spectral bears" and declares them unnecessarily terrifying.  "Now, a bear will maul you and eat you. A ghost bear will scare you to death." And to think we didn't even know ghostly bears were a thing.  (CM)
