A Dark and Stormy Night: Does Weather Affect the Paranormal? - Mysterious Universe

Brent Swancer delves into the connection between weather and ghostly experiences to see if there is more to the phenomenon than active imagination and a case of nerves.  It seems that when we see a storm coming in and tell ourselves all hell is about to break loose, we aren't just speaking metaphorically. Swancer suggests that electro-magnetic phenomena like storms and solar winds may act as a medium through which the other side can reach out, while environmental heat might energize a spirit sufficiently to communicate whilst leaving behind a cold spot. Or it could also be that stormy weather is just plain scary and humans can convince themselves of anything. Is there research out there demonstrating a correlation between vacation hot spots in hurricane season and ghostly encounters? We feel a grad thesis coming on... Speaking of which, University Researchers Are Learning How to Summon Faeries and Demons. Let's put this firmly into the category of What Could Possibly Go Wrong? While researchers at the University of Exeter view their activities purely as research as they study ancient grimoires, we have to wonder if no one has learned a thing from The Evil Dead movie franchise. Seriously, nerds, wouldn't your time be better spent convincing the University Registrar to develop a double major program in Parapsychology and Meteorology? (CM)
